If you're the Storytelling type who likes to imagine what the people in your city are doing, watch the SimCity Storybook with SimCity Brian and Skyestorme. Keep up to date by listening to The Skye Storme (not quite) Daily Podcasts where you can even find an interview with the BigTuna himself, Maxis balance designer Chris Schmidt. His Let's Play Series is more long form, where you can follow him as he builds a variety of different City types. His Segregation Series will blow your mind as to what's possible in Sim City. If you watch only one series, make sure to view his 60 Second Tips. If you use his process, there is no excuse for going bankrupt at the beginning of a game. It is how I start every game of Sim City. NEW! -> Skye now has a website! The best place to start is his Fast Track to $1 Million. I've searched through his entire video library on Youtube and compiled links to every video that's available. No other SimCity fan has been more prolific at creating video tutorials than SimNation Guild member "Skye Storme". I'll leave the the text below as it was when I last updated. It's a one-stop shop for watching all of his video series. Show him some love and bookmark his site. Hope this helps you be more successful in your game.Note: Since Skye has created his own website at I won't be updating this list any more. You will have to play every couple of hours til you find it and you will have to pay attention to it because it is a moving target. Once, sometimes twice, a day something happens which I call the "bubble storm." It lasts for about 45 minutes and can yield up to 15 expansion items in all the categories. It depends on when you pop them and how long you stay with it. Hope this helps you be more successful in your popping bubbles does work. Lately, the storm has been sticking close to the appearance of Maxis Manor so if you have one of those, note its time as well. I now recieve 3 each of dozer, storage, and Vu every 24 hours. When those expansions are finished, those items will no longer be produced. It does take some dedicated time and effort every day.Īs you advance in the game and more things open, the more items are produced. I have recieved thousands of expansion items this way. The game will move the storm every 3 to 5 days, usually advancing it a few hours. If you don't, they will continue ad infinitum. I usually watch to the point that I can close it ( 5-10 secconds) then close it. This will be accompanied by 4 video ads that you can watch or click through, makes no difference. The bubbles usually come in pairs, 35 to 60 seconds apart for 45 minutes. When the fist item appears, note time & what you recieved. If it doesn't start, check back in another 12 hours. It may take 5 minutes to set it off, if it is going to start. In 12 hours, go into your game and start popping. Note the time that you first noticed it and for how long it lasted. You realize the bubbles are giving you an item every 2 to 3 times they appear during the time you are playing. Say you are playing and popping bubbles religiously, like we all do.
